The Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS) now looks after the administration of the voluntary accredited professional register for the Ophthalmic and Vision Science (OVS).
Currently the route to be accepted onto the register is through the Certificate of Competence. The application process in simple terms is similar to providing an up to date CV, Personal Statement and evidence of Qualifications, Studying and CPD activities. The CPD evidence should contain a wide range of activities, and will form the main basis of the assessment in addition to the personal statement and references.
Assessments are carried out by a lay person and your peers in Ophthalmic and Vision Science profession who have been nominated/approached by the OIA and the AHCS
